What is your organization’s mission and cause?
In Search of Roots provides Chinese American young adults a year-long program through which they learn about their family genealogy and history, Chinese and Chinese American history. The program includes lectures, field trips, travel to ancestral villages in Guangdong province, and an exhibit and presentation.
What are some of the programs available through your organization?
In Search of Roots is sponsored by the Chinese Culture Center (CCC), the Chinese Historical Society of America, and Cathay Pacific Airlines. Other programs at CCC are Chinese language classes, calligraphy classes, art exhibits and other cultural presentations.
What motivates you to continue to work with your organization?
I have long been interested in Chinese and Chinese American studies. The In Search of Roots program allows me to share this interest with the younger generation.
